March 13, 2017: New Update v3.2 Available!

November 2, 2016: v3.1 released!

Finally, after 10 months of development and 19 beta versions the latest major update is available. November 26, 2015: News about version 3.0

The development of version 3 goes well, but it won't be finished in December as previously planned. The release will most probably be in early February. Stability is the most important and we receive a lot of help from the wonderful RapidComposer community (bugs reported, features requested, useful suggestions). Beta versions are posted every week.

November 7, 2015: The first v3.0 beta version is available

June 16, 2015: The biggest update so far, v2.9 is available!

After several months of development and testing, with the valuable help from the fantastic community, the latest major update was released today. The update contains dozens of new features, like the long-awaited melody harmonization, rewritten VST plug-in, and the new note inspector with transformations on selected notes, as well as bug fixes and stability improvements.

After months of development and testing (there were nine beta versions) the new update contains rewritten chord suggestions system with editable rules, chord progression generation, phrase local history, workflow improvements, and bug fixes.

July 1, 2014: Eurodance tutorial added

Nick Amandote published a tutorial about how to compose Eurodance style compositions using RapidComposer on eurodancetutorial.blogspot.com! The tutorial includes downloadable phrases created by Nick.

November 18, 2013: Version 2.5 released!

After 3 months of continuous development and testing we are excited to announce this major update with the rewritten user manual. The full version includes the new Melody Generator (video here). Registered users get more than 200 reusable phrases by Chris Caulder.

A major update was released today with about a dozen new features.

April 9, 2013: Tutorials updated, new tutorial posted

Today a new tutorial was uploaded to the web-site (Quick Start Guide), and all other tutorials were updated and extended to use v2.0 screenshots.

February 25, 2013: Version 2.0 released!

Today the long awaited version 2.0 was released for both Windows and Mac OS X. The new version is the result of 7 months of development and testing, and features a totally redesigned user interface and better workflow, and includes handling relative chords and chord progressions. The rewritten internal architecture enables us to add more features more quickly in the future. The price of RapidComposer changed to USD 249. During the promotion period RapidComposer is available for USD 224, RapidComposer LE is USD 89 until March 31, 2013.

January 21, 2013: Version 2.0 sent to owners today

The release candidate for the Windows version was sent to RapidComposer owners today! Porting to OS X started, hopefully it will not take too long.

November 20, 2012: RapidComposer V2 development still in progress - expected release in December

The development of the update still hasn't finished although it is in good shape. Everything is working now, only about a dozen smaller improvements are need to be made. We are doing our best to release V2 around December 10-15.

August 20, 2012: RapidComposer V2 development in progress

We have been quiet in the last few weeks, this is because we are working on the next major version of RapidComposer. Developing V2 with much better workflow and fully redesigned user interface will take months, so we expect a release in October, maybe in early November. Thank you for your patience!

April 23, 2012: RapidComposer For OS X Released!

We waited for this moment for a long time. After two months of beta testing, RapidComposer is available for Mac OS X. A lot of people demanded an OS X version, and while porting took longer than expected, we deliver it today. Technically speaking the source code is the same for the Windows and Mac OS X version, so any new feature implemented will automatically go into both versions in the future. We would like to keep the version numbers the same for Windows and OS X as much as possible. For Mac OS X a standalone version is available at the moment.

April 23, 2012: On-line activation removed from RapidComposer

From this day RapidComposer users do not have to activate the software through the internet. A simple keycode protection is used instead. We believe that honest people should not suffer because of complex software protection techniques.

December 19, 2011: News about the OS X version!

The porting to OS X goes very well, the user interface is fully functional. We expect that a beta version will be available at the end of January. Please note that the OS X version will not be a separate product, all customers will get both the Windows and Mac OS X versions.

December 19, 2011: RapidComposer VST released and the standalone updated to v1.8!

This major update includes the long-awaited VST version with 128-channel MIDI output. The rewrite of the manual has begun, from today it is available only in pdf format. The standalone version has some minor features and fixes for several bugs.

August 15, 2011: RapidComposer (and LE) was updated to v1.75!

This major update features a rewritten ASIO handler, and several usability improvements asked by our users on the support forum, as well as bug fixes.

May 31, 2011: RapidComposer (and LE) was updated to v1.7!

This update adds line drawing on the piano roll. Notes are inserted and aligned smartly with several snap and filtering options. Many new chord progressions added, and now the chord progressions are sorted by their complexity. There were improvements in the harmonization menu, and a few sample phrases were added.

May 3, 2011: RapidComposer (and LE) was updated to v1.6!

This is the biggest major update in the short history of RapidComposer. (We celebrated the first birthday in April!) With new ways of chord selection, the rewritten progression editor with chord suggestions, harmonization improvements, new variations, RapidComposer is more complete and solid than ever. The UI offers clever and unique ways of displaying overlapped notes. Several bugs were fixed.

January 24, 2011: RapidComposer (and LE) was updated to v1.5!

With this major update the editing workflow has been improved and several new piano roll view options were implemented. Changing chord notes visually is now possible while phrases and notes are updated realtime. You won't find this in any other DAW. Another unique feature is that you can store the state of a VSTi plug-in as an instrument that you can use later, even for plug-ins that do not expose their presets. This update has about a dozen new features!

December 6, 2010: RapidComposer (and LE) was updated to v1.44!

Not just bug fixes but also new features can be found in this minor update.

November 29, 2010: Official support forum created at KVR Audio!

November 24, 2010: RapidComposer LE released!

Due to popular demand we made a light edition (LE) of RapidComposer available for serious hobbyist musicians and composers. RapidComposer LE is available immediately for USD 99. LE customers can upgrade to the full version with a substantial discount (for USD 196).

November 24, 2010: RapidComposer v1.4 released!

The latest major update with fully customizable user interface, and rewritten VSTi plug-in handling that fixes all stability problems and made VSTi support rock solid! Other changes: improved loop playback and recording, tap tempo, fractional tempo can be specified for any structural unit, ASIO configuration improvements.

October 18, 2010: RapidComposer v1.32 released!

A minor bug fix update was released that has fixes for stability issues reported by our users as well as some smaller features. Thank you for all the feedback we have received in the last few weeks!

September 28, 2010: RapidComposer v1.3 released!

The biggest update until now is available immediately! This new version has many impovements and new features like MIDI CC editing and recording, articulations support, phrase and note preview during editing, improved editing in the composite track, and many smaller features and bug fixes.

July 13, 2010: RapidComposer v1.21 released!

Bug fix update with a new feature is available immediately.

June 30, 2010: RapidComposer v1.2 released!

May 3, 2010: RapidComposer v1.1 released!

Just one month after the first release a major update is available with improved phrase and note editing capabilities and improved user interface. The price is still USD 295.

April 1, 2010: RapidComposer v1.0 released!

We are happy to announce the availability of RapidComposer, our unique music prototyping application. We hope that many composers, song-writers and musicians will find this tool helpful in the creative process of music composition. Now that the first version is ready, we will have time to implement some groundbreaking features in the coming months. Expect frequent updates with new features.
